The airway inflammation model, induced by the administration of bacterial LPS, is a good example of the versatility of Porsolt’s capabilities in determining the anti-inflammatory effects of test substances.
Numerous parameters can be monitored in a multiplex approach. Inflammatory cytokine secretion can be measured in plasma or lung using Luminex or qPCR, broncho alveolar lavage cellular analysis can be performed with flow cytometry and ELISA, and histopathological analysis of lung tissue can be achieved using standard pathology and automated image analysis.
